Position Summary: 

We are looking for a Portfolio Risk Analyst that will provide critical support across the organization through reporting and advanced analytics of the loan portfolio that will capture real-time actionable data to guide decision making. In this role, you will be critical to our company’s growth. The primary responsibility of this position is to collect, analyze, and connect large volumes of data from disparate sources, extract insights, and identify opportunities to control risk, increase sales and improve profitability. 

Key Roles/Responsibilities:  

  • Integrate disparate sources of data and prepare forecast and analyses of the loan portfolio using various software programs or statistical programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
  • Manage large, complex data sets and support the reporting requirements across the organization providing actionable and real-time data in a highly visual format (dashboards) to key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Credit and Customer Service teams in preparing portfolio performance presentations and creating fact-based portfolio management strategies.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed. 

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or Information Management, or related field or equivalent from a four-year university.
  • CFA preferred.
  • 5+ years in an Analyst role with experience in database management, loan portfolio management, and risk analytics or related experience and/or training.
  • Prefer experience in working for a commercial equipment finance company.
  • Experience in data warehousing and importing/exporting data to various databases and applications.
  • Experience in using data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI).
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (a.k.a. Navision, Microsoft D365) ERP software a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid business intelligence and reporting development experience, preferably within a data lake environment.
  • Exceptional team player with the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting, earn team confidence quickly and facilitate change.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and evolving priorities.
  • Critical thinker and team player with the ability to inspire others to collaborate through own example.
  • Strong people skills: able to work with a wide variety of personalities.
  • Strong communication skills; persuasive, and willing to share research and knowledge with the team. 

Working Conditions:  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
  • Moves throughout the building to access files.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.  
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.  
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.  
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
