Job Title: Vice President of Asset Management

The Vice President of Asset Management will be responsible for the active management and oversight of equipment assets financed within the company portfolio and current inventory, ensuring optimal performance, risk mitigation, and asset value maximization. This role requires strategic collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to monitor asset performance, manage risk, and enhance portfolio profitability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of equipment finance, asset lifecycle management, disposition strategies, and a strong understanding of asset classes across various industry verticals.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the lifecycle of financed assets and rental audits, ensuring consistent performance, timely service, and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and address risks associated with asset depreciation, delinquency, and inventory management through consistent evaluation of the portfolio’s asset value.
  • Employ strategies to enhance asset returns, which may involve upgrading or disposing of equipment when necessary and creating strategies to reduce exposure while optimizing profitability.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, equipment types, and market conditions affecting asset values. Provide reporting to recommend portfolio strategies accordingly to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships nationally with dealers, vendors, end users, and auctioneers to assist with asset storage, retail, auction, and rental redeployment.
  • Support the customers’ main point of contact in managing their financed underutilized assets including asset-related inquiries by proposing solutions to enhance client satisfaction and portfolio performance.
  • Develop and deliver regular reports on portfolio performance, analyzing asset utilization, profitability, and risk exposure. Provide data-driven insights to senior management and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with sales, credit, and legal teams to ensure asset financing is structured to align with company risk appetite and portfolio objectives.
  • Coordinate with the collections team to recover assets in default scenarios. Manage the resale or redeployment of repossessed equipment to maximize value and mitigate loss.
  • Develop and maintain residual value metrics with various vendors across industry sectors and asset classes.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more of years of experience in portfolio management, asset management, or a related role within the equipment finance industry.
  • Strong understanding of asset valuation, redeployment, and disposition strategies across wide breadth of asset classes.
  • Experience with asset lifecycle management, risk mitigation, and client relationship management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory and asset management software.
  • Strong experience with financial modeling tools, including Excel advanced functions, Bloomberg Terminal, or similar financial analysis software.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems like Salesforce for data management and reporting.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with customers, vendors, dealers, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, ASA, AMEA, RICS, EAANA, or similar professional certifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of industries and equipment types commonly financed in the equipment leasing and finance sector, including but not limited to construction, transportation, and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting equipment finance and asset management.
  • Experience with asset valuation methodologies and lifecycle management within leasing portfolios.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and asset performance tracking software to enhance decision-making and portfolio optimization.
